A lot of my music is a reflection of where I'm from. My Grandpa (on my Mom's side) is a former steel worker from Johnstown PA. Like many from his generation, he didn't have the opportunities that I have been blessed with. My Grandma and Grandpa worked hard to take care of their large family. I believe the work ethic and values of Western PA should be celebrated. This kind of American life seems to consistently creep into my music, sometimes without me even aware of it. |
